13 Benghazis That Occurred on Bush’s Watch Without a Peep from Fox News

The Benghazi attacks (the consulate and the CIA compound) are absolutely not unprecedented even though they’re being treated that way by the baggers who are deliberately ignoring anything that happened prior to Inauguration Day, January 20, 2009.

January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen associated with Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.

June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber connected with al-Qaida attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.

October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of “Bali Bombings.” No fatalities.

February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Several gunmen fire upon the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.

May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed al-Qaida terrorists storm the diplomatic compound killing 36 people including nine Americans. The assailants committed suicide by detonating a truck bomb.

July 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two people.

December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al-Qaida terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.

March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people, including U.S. diplomat David Foy who was directly targeted by the attackers. (I wonder if Lindsey Graham or Fox News would even recognize the name “David Foy.” This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what’s considered American soil.)

September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed gunmen shouting “Allahu akbar” storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades, automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed, 13 are wounded.

January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek terrorist group called the Revolutionary Struggle fire a rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.

March 18, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Members of the al-Qaida-linked Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S. Embassy. The shot misses the embassy, but hits nearby school killing two.

July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.

September 17, 2008. Sana’a, Yemen. Terrorists dressed as military officials attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of weapons including RPGs and detonate two car bombs. Sixteen people are killed, including an American student and her husband (they had been married for three weeks when the attack occurred). This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.

So Jmb, if people don't have the same point of view as you, you resort to calling them pigs and suggest they go and die? I can tell you're a very pleasant person.

Three rules to form a Fascist movement: "Make things up" "Scream it loudly" "Kill off the dissenters" Some Patriots.
Roger Lord December 07, 2013 at 10:12 AM
The difference is that our people in Benghazi knew of a pending attack, asked for help, and had it denied. Then when something terrible happened and people died including the ambassador, it was blamed on a video. None of the attacks you cite were covered up for the sake of political points and Bush did something about each one that happened.

"The difference is that our people in Benghazi knew of a pending attack, asked for help, and had it denied. " Baloney. This has been disproved, repeatedly. http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/benghazi.asp Claiming that there is a cover up is a classic conspiracy ploy, a negative proof. Spare us the Libertarian Mythology. Fox Geezer syndrome is treatable. Turn off the TV - read a newspaper. Ruminating propaganda produces drool. The point is that the public went along with all the carnage inflicted by the Bush administration as "acceptable losses" but anything that happens on Obama's watch is suspect. Three rules to form a Fascist movement: "Make $hi& up" "Scream it loudly and often" "Kill dissenters" You've got a good start, Roger. FYI - We whipped the Fascists in Europe and we'll do it here.

Roger just like the Bush administration new about the 9-11 attacks beforhand and did nothing just so he could have an excuse to attack Iraq. The us intelligence community knew all about the attacks but Busk let them happen anyway. Then he put thousands of American troops in harms way for a personal vendetta because Husain disrespected his father.
Roger Lord December 07, 2013 at 04:08 PM
Robert... You have jumped off the deep end if you believe that. It sounds like the same baloney about FDR who supposedly let Pearl Harbor happen so we could get into WWII.
BD December 07, 2013 at 04:14 PM
LOL... you mean it sounds like some of those crazy teabagger conspiracy theories! You know what they say...you need crazy to fight crazy.

Do you know another word besides pig? Just curious.
Renee Cwiek December 07, 2013 at 05:22 PM
I can tell your mother taught you how to be polite as well as being a pleasant person. It's okay if your vocabulary is limited. I'll buy you a thesaurus for Christmas and a dictionary to look up the meaning of thesaurus.

Where do these people come from? Ork?
OldTownie December 07, 2013 at 06:54 PM
Jmb, You seem to have some bias against "pigs". Why do you hate pork so much? You must be Muslim. That explains it, your not American Taliban, your one of them Muslim Talibans.
Naome Lixes December 07, 2013 at 07:11 PM
There must be a bacon heaven. What's the point of a hereafter, if the buffet is lousy. One Chowmein sandwich is too many...

"The difference is that our people in Benghazi knew of a pending attack, asked for help, and had it denied." This baseless lie has been repeated by hyenas cackling over the graves of Patriots that died for their Country - it was a lie then, it's a lie now, it will still be a lie tomorrow. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2013/may/14/jason-chaffetz/rep-jason-chaffetz-says-special-forces-ready-save-/

I just shows how srupid JMB and his Bagger friends are when they think calling a bunch of liberal Democrats, "progressive socialists" is an insualt. I am very proud to be a progressive socialist. But not just a progressive socialist but an elitist liberal progressive socialist. Oink Oink
Just Another Taxpayer December 08, 2013 at 08:38 AM
I wonder what Joe S and the Patch Patriot have to say about this story?
Renee Cwiek December 08, 2013 at 08:55 AM
Where did all the comments go?
Renee Cwiek December 08, 2013 at 09:18 AM
My answer would be yes Roger.

It's also known as moderation. They're showing a lower tolerance for blather. That's appropriate. If you can't stick to verifiable facts, it's just another shouting match. Plenty of outlets for that, elsewhere. Like Craigslist, for example.
Hayley S December 09, 2013 at 11:41 AM
All the terrorists were Muslims.......... What a different world this would be, so much more sharing between the civilized nations, if we didn't have the barbaric Muslims - show btw, the US (that means you and me) paid them trillions in oil money... and what do they do?? !! they build Disneyland size palaces for the dictators... and Don't Educate the people!!!!
Tea Party Shill January 18, 2014 at 05:16 PM
