Rita May (Chorlton) Hedly, 99, of Portsmouth, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at St. Clare Home, Newport.
She was the wife of the late Russell P. Hedly.
Born on May 22, 1914, in Fall River, MA, she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Honore (Crowley) Chorlton.
Hedly lived in Portsmouth for 69 years. She drove for the Red Cross during World War II and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church.
She is survived by her children, David S. Connor and Deborah Chorlton Lucente, both of Portsmouth; three grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
