Former Portsmouth Woman, World War II Veteran Dies at 81

Jerry Ross McLaughlin, 81, of Magnet Cove, AR, formerly of Portsmouth, died Nov. 4, 2013. 

Born Jan. 3, 1932 in Chickasaw, OK, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ceville Ross. Jerry was a Marine veteran who served during World War II. 
 
She is predeceased by her parents; two brothers: Gilbert Ross and J.W. Ross; and one sister, JoAnn Ross Miller. 

She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, William McLaughlin of Magnet Cove; one son, William (Debbie) McLaughlin Jr. of Tiverton; two daughters: Raven (Jimmy Lee) Spurlin of Magnet Cove and Robin Ross of NY; one brother, Jack (Mary) Ross of Dallas, TX; one sister, Joyce Holmes of Magnet Cove; eight grandchildren: James Spurlin of Fargo, ND, Christa Spurlin of Malvern, Michaela Spurlin of Magnet Cove, William (Robin) McLaughlin III of Portsmouth, RI, Health McLaughlin of Tiverton, RI, Dakota Henson of Amity, AR, Joseph (Chelsea) Garner of Kensett, AR, and Noah Rowlett of Albion, NY; and seven great-grandchildren. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern, AR.
