Tiverton! Just Named Hottest Rhode Island Town For Real Estate

With summer winding down and the year well past mid point, the Rhode Island real estate market is continuing to show definite signs of recovery. According to the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, existing single family home sales rose 22% in July from a year ago, and the median price rose to $216,000 from $207,000 in July, 2012. July also marked the tenth consecutive month of increase in median prices from the previous year.

GoLocalProv examined the most recent median house sale prices (May-July 2013) for every town and city in the state, looking for the biggest jumps since last year, and the results may pleasantly surprise you.

Our own lovely Tiverton easily led the pack ranking #1 with a median sale price increase of 98.9%. Middletown showed well at #3 with a year over year increase of over 25%, and Bristol landed in the #6 position with a 17.3% increase. Actual number of sales varied greatly between the areas and does play a factor, yet the numbers are encouraging.
