The Tiverton Fire Department will host a blood drive on Saturday, Sept. 7, at the Tiverton Fire Department headquarters.
The drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will take place in a mobile unit provided by the Rhode Island Blood Center.
Anyone, age 16 or older generally in good health, can donate. Those who are age 16-year-olds need parental consent.
A full list of "who can donate" can be found on the Rhode Island Blood Center website RIBC.org. You can walk in on the day, or make an appointment through the website using sponsor code 3447.
"We have been wanting to do a blood drive for a while now, to help give back to the community, and the timing of the drive coincides with the anniversary of Sept. 11th, which is right around the corner, so it's a good way to remember the lives lost that day by donating, and helping save lives going forward," said Trevor Sheehan of the Tiverton Fire Department.
The Tiverton Fire Department headquarters is located at 85 Main Road, Tiverton.
