TIVERTON FOOD DRIVE THIS WEEK - PICK UP FOOD AT SANDYWOODS ON SUNDAY

Tiverton High School Drama Club students who are part of the club's "Theater for Social Awareness" group are leading a community-wide effort to collect donated food this week, to be given out to area families in need this coming Sunday, October 20th, starting at 5 pm, at Sandywoods Center for the Arts (43 Muse Way, behind the skate park). They and their supporters are busy collecting canned goods, pasta, dry goods, etc. for their "Fill the Basket, Feed a Family" event, but they need your help!

IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DONATE: If you are a local farmer with some extra produce you can contribute, or perhaps a baker or food vendor with surplus items, or even if you just have a few grocery items to spare, please drop off whatever you can at Sandywoods between now and Sunday. Best drop-off times are Thursday 3-7 pm, Friday 5-9 pm, and Saturday 5-9 pm.(Call 401-241-7349 or email info@sandywoodsfarm.org if you would like to set up a different drop-off time.)

IF YOU OR YOUR FAMILY NEEDS FOOD: Please come to Sandywoods on Sunday starting at 5 pm to pick up the filled food baskets. Anyone in need is welcome, no questions asked. You do not need to establish eligibility and you will not be asked for proof of income.

RIGHT AFTER THE FOOD DRIVE: Local musician Gary Fish has organized a fantastic benefit concert at Sandywoods, starting at 6:30 pm on Sunday. Some of the region's most talented musicians will be donating their time and talent to raise money for local food banks and the East Bay Community Action Program. Please plan on attending "Solo for Singing Out Against Hunger" on Sunday night! Suggested donation at the door is $10, or pay what you can.
