Protect Your Private Well Workshop

URI and RI Dept of Health offer informational
programs for private well owners.

Your
drinking water tastes and smells fine – but, when was the last time you had it
tested?  And, what should it be
tested for?  In Rhode Island, one
in ten residents get their drinking water from a private well.  These private well owners are
responsible for testing and maintaining the quality of their own well
water.  Following the well testing
schedule developed by the RI Department of Health helps private well owners protect
their family and identify any potential problems.

To assist private
well owners in testing and protecting their drinking water, the RI Department
of Health and  URI will host a free
educational workshop on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 7 – 9 PM at the Little
Compton Community Center in Little Compton, RI   This two-hour workshop will educate residents about
common contaminants, well maintenance, and how to have their well water tested.
