Community Corner

Forum on High Stakes Testing

The federal Race to the Top (RTTT) grant has given a significant amount of much-needed funding to school districts across the nation. That money has come with many strings attached, however. Districts across the country (Tiverton and Fall River Public Schools included) have been obligated under RTTT to increase high-stakes testing for all public school students. Tiverton students will take the new PARCC tests this month.

Join concerned citizens for a conversation about high-stakes testing and its impact on education.
HEAR how such tests change what and how teachers teach.
LEARN how it affects students and their communities.
SHARE your stories and ask your questions.

Refreshments will be served, and child care is available.
