More Snow On The Way?

New England may be getting more snow later this week.

Although it's early in the game, some preliminary weather models are projecting that New England will get more snow this week.

First, initial projections predict that Rhode Island could get 2 to 4 inches Wednesday into Thursday as a smaller system makes its way across the Northeast. More aggressive models project 6 to 8 inches.

Unfortunately, that's not all. Another major storm system, currently brewing in the Pacific Northwest, could be heading straight toward New England this weekend. Cold air from Canada is expected to plunge into the storm system and could hit the Northeast or bypass the area and head out to sea.

Earliest estimates have the storm hitting Rhode Island Sunday or Sunday night. This storm could pack more of a punch than the midweek storm, but current forecasts are very uncertain at this time.
