Disposing of Your Christmas Tree in Tiverton and Little Compton

Tiverton and Little Compton provide ways of properly recycling your Christmas tree.

As Christmas trees begin to wane to shed their pine needles onto the floor and carpet, Tiverton and Little Compton provide ways to recycle them.

The will collect Christmas trees during the weeks of Jan. 9 to Jan. 13. and Jan. 17 to Jan. 20. According to Director Stephen Berlucchi, residents are asked to place their discarded Christmas trees curbside, adjacent to their trash, on the same day as the normal trash collection. The trees must not be in any form of plastic bag, and should be reasonably free of tinsel and decorations.

The trees will be mulched by a chipper as collected. The resulting mulch will be made available free to residents at the entrance to the landfill, during normal operating hours.
