1. Get up early and join The Nature Conservancy in Rhode Island for the last beach walk of the season! Enjoy the early fall as we discuss the beach ecosystem and migrating birds.

2. Topnotch bluegrass and country music returns to Sandywoods in Tiverton on Friday, September 21st, when Four Bridges will play at the Sandywoods Center for the Arts. FOUR BRIDGES is Jeremy Place (mandolin, guitar, vocals), John Almeida (fiddle, vocals), Ben Marshall (banjo, guitar, vocals) & Russ Hermansen (bass). Together, they make up a traditional and contemporary bluegrass band that excels in hard-driving bluegrass with hot instrumentals and soaring harmonies. Save the date and wear your dancing shoes!

5. On this day in 1780, during the American Revolution, American General Benedict Arnold meets with British Major John Andre to discuss handing over West Point to the British, in return for the promise of a large sum of money and a high position in the British army. The plot was foiled and Arnold, a former American hero, became synonymous with the word "traitor."
