Seriously ? I can see the line of qualified applicants in the area forming for the full time positions right now. These are high-level management / highly skilled jobs, but we can do the pet thing or sell a new diet plan. Please....

A dog walker? Is this town nuts? How would you be expected to pay the insane property taxes on a dog walker's salary? We should all be police and firemen. Middletown police retire with $80,000 a year. No wonder our taxes are so high. I only wish I was joking, but Middletown Police actually get their birthday off with Pay! This is what the union negotiated with the town. If only the town would negotiate with taxpayers.

Please tell me this is not true. If Cops or Firefighters retire at $80K/yr someone in this town needs to have their happy rear end sent to jail. There's no way a municipal employee should make more in retirement than the median income for a household in the town ($51,075). The people of Middletown need to stand up to this.
