Little Compton Store To Welcome New Owners

The Simmons Store, located in the Adamsville section of Little Compton at 78 Crandall Road, will be under new ownership after Jan. 17, reports EastBayRI.com. 

Jennifer Grantham of Westport, MA, will take over ownership of the Adamsville store from Ralph Borden and Jennifer (Jenn) Holewka, who have owned the store for the past 15 years, according to EastBayRI.com. 

According to the article, the new owner says she hopes to maintain the store's historical elements. 

F. A. Simmons has been operating continuously at the bottom of Route 81 in Tiverton since 1890.

Selling groceries, deli sandwiches, ice cream and general merchandise daily year round, F. A. Simmons is a staple of the community. The cedar shingles and wooden ceilings give the store a cozy feel and old-fashioned charm.
