Little Compton Jeweler Brings Business to Four Corners

Peter Tirpaeck, who worked as a jeweler at Tiffany Peay, opens his shop Studio By The Sea this weekend.

Peter Tirpaeck opened the Studio By The Sea on the shores of the Atlantic in Little Compton in 2007. With his wife Margaret and three children, he's been involved in local business in Little Compton for more than 20 years.

On Saturday, May 26, Tirpaeck opens the Studio By The Sea at his new location at 3879 Main Road in the Wilcox House in Tiverton Four Corners (next to and ). He will design and sell one-of-a-kind original creations, and will also repair, restore and re-purpose all types of jewelry items.

"At the Studio by the Sea we explore as we create," Tirpaeck said. "Each of of my designs reveals an order that lies just beneath the surface of any motif."

Whether it is the carving of a wax to cast a mold, or the setting of a stone, or restoring a family heirloom, Tirpaeck said the attention given to a piece always provides us with a different perspective from what we started with.

"This process is akin to what it feels to meet a new friend," he added. "We all can learn more about ourselves and the world around us as we create, and my efforts here at the Studio by the Sea are to engage in this artistic process"

Over the years, Tirpaeck said he created many original designs, including wedding bands, belt buckles, earrings, bracelets and more.

"Come in and visit the Studio to see what I have created and become part of creating you own heirloom," Tirpaeck said. "All work is done on the premises and we offer free cleaning and inspection."
