Auction for Little Compton's Stone Inn Happening Friday

Little Compton's historic Stone House Inn was scheduled to be auctioned off Friday.

The building, which was built in 1854, was previously listed for nearly $7 million. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Providence Journal reported the auction would happen Friday morning.

The building was converted to an inn in the 1920s. Its basement tap was a speakeasy during Prohibition.

The inn had been a popular spot for weddings.
