Little Compton Woman Wins Scholarship for Public Service

Megan Elwell of Little Compton received a $1,500 scholarship from the Rhode Island Association of Former Legislators Scholarship Fund at the Rhode Island Foundation. A member of Portsmouth High School’s Class of 2014, Elwell was recognized for her dedication and contributions to public service.

The fund provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are Rhode Island residents and have distinguished themselves with outstanding public service. The students must have volunteered significant time and effort to community service to civic, religious, nonprofit or other organizations in order to enrich their community.
