Little Compton Cook-Off this Saturday

Chefs - bring your best recipe. Guests - bring your appetite!

Think your soup, chili or chowder is good enough to be called the best?

On Sat., March 1, Crowther's Reastaurant on Pottersville Road in Little Compton is the place to be to find out if your concoction is winner-worthy.

It's the annual Little Compton Community Cook-off and it benefits the Little Compton Community Center.

"Throw your chef's hat into the ring at this friendly, fun competition open to all amateur chefs who consider their secret recipe to be the best," Roger Guillemette said in a release.

There's no fee to enter and you can prepare more than one dish. You do need to be ready to make two gallons of the stuff and bring serving utensils, a hot plate or crock pot. Each entry must be at a safe temperature between 140 to 160 degrees.

Guests pay $5 for six samples or $10 for 15 samples. Bread and crackers are included.

That's a pretty good deal for what could be a tremendous amount of tremendous food.

Chefs are encouraged to contact the Little Compton Community Center by sending an email to ginamalloy@lccenter.com or call 401-635-2400 for more information. Deadline to enter is Thursday, Feb. 27.
