Project Chick with Casey Farm

Project Chick is coming to town during Tiverton’s school vacation week. This is a free, fun, and informative hour-long program, presented by Casey Farm, on Friday, April 25, 10:30am at the Sandywoods Center for the Arts.

During this program, you will learn how chickens are raised, what they eat, and how they are protected from predators. The life cycle of chickens will be discussed as well as types of chickens at Casey Farm. The presenter will talk about a variety of eggs and participants will get to hold different eggs produced by our feathered friends. You will also have the opportunity to guess which bird produced each egg. And if you’ve never seen an Ostrich egg, you will at this program!

In addition, you will also observe and touch a real live Dominique Chicken. You’ll also be shown how to correctly hold a chick. Each participant will have hands-on time with a chick. The presenter will also stay for 15 minutes after the program to answer your questions.
