More About Tiverton Town Hall
Tiverton Town Hall provides municipal services to the town's more than 15,000 residents.
It contains several town departments, including the Town Administrator's Office, the Town Clerk Department, the Tax Assessor's Office, the Planning Department, the Code Enforcement Office, the Zoning Department, the Tax Collector's Office and the Treasurer's Office.
The Town Hall also houses the Municipal Court, Probate Court and Town Council Chambers. The Town Council meets on the second and fourth Monday of the month at 7 pm.
Municipal meeting dates for boards and commissions can be found on the town's website.
Initially incorporated in 1694, Tiverton was part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. After settling a long-term border clash between Massachusetts and Rhode Island in 1746, Tiverton, along with the towns of Little Compton, Cumberland, Barrington and Bristol, was annexed, via a royal decree, to Rhode Island. The town was then incorporated in 1747.
