Experience the clarity and calm that comes from shutting off the noise of the outside world and connecting to the body and the innate serenity of the inner self. This series of weekly classes will offer a meditation “sampler platter”, allowing participants to experience simple breath and energy cultivating techniques from various ancient and contemporary practices. Participants will then bring their expanded awareness to various life experiences. These meditation classes are a part of Amicable Church's seven-week Mind, Body, Spirit 2013 program (visit www.amicablechurch.org for more info) and are facilitated by Vaughn Bryner, long time practitioner of yoga, qigong and a number of meditative disciplines. The March 12, Sound Meditation session, will be led by Lynda Loranger, a licensed clinical social worker in private practice for over 20 years, who integrates sound and vibrations into her practice using an array of singing bowls, Tibetan gongs and other instruments.
Dates: Tuesdays, February 19- March 26, 6:30—7:30 PM
Materials needed: For your comfort, please bring a cushion (to sit on) and blanket to each session.
Registration: The class is free of charge to community members, but participants are encouraged to register in advance by emailing amicablechurch@aol.com or calling the church office at 624-4611.
