DESCRIPTION:This&nbsp\;is a&nbsp\;twist on traditional Mardi Gras parties
 : spicy food\, Dixieland music and games without the &ldquo\;drunkenness
  and debauchery&rdquo\; associated with the New Orleans celebration. In 
 short\, it is a family-friendly Mardi Gras.\nTrue to the Cajun and Creol
 e influences of &ldquo\;The Big Easy\,&rdquo\; the party will feature a 
 food court with dishes including: Jambalaya\, blackened chicken\, and di
 rty rice. (There will also be kid-friendly food for those who are younge
 r or less adventuresome eaters.) For dessert\, partygoers will be treate
 d to the traditional &ldquo\;King Cake.&rdquo\;&nbsp\; Beverages will in
 clude non-alcoholic versions of traditional New Orleans drinks.\nJean Ga
 lipeau\, a professional deejay\, will create a backdrop of Dixieland mus
 ic for games and contests that offer prizes to the winners. Those with a
 n artistic bent can create feathered\, bedazzled masquerade masks. Brigh
 tly colored strings of beads\, a traditional part of Mardi Gras parades\
 , can be accumulated during a contest that will be ongoing throughout th
 e evening.\nTickets for the event can be reserved in advance (recommende
 d) by calling Amicable Congregational Church at (401) 624-4611 or purcha
 sed at the door. Admission of $10 for adults\, $8 for teens and $6 for k
 ids 12 and under\, will purchase tickets redeemable at the food court an
 d activity booths.
