COEXISTING: FAITHS CONVERSE—Hinduism
On January 27, 2013 at 10:00 am, Amicable Church in Tiverton, RI will be offering the final installment of its series of services entitled Coexisting: Faiths Converse
with a service devoted to an understanding of the common ground between Christianity and Hinduism. Swami Yogatmananda, spiritual leader of the Vedanta
Society of Providence and the guest presenter for the service, will lead congregants in a guided meditation as a part of the discussion of the spiritual practices of the religion. Music for the service will range from Beatles’ songs inspired by their studies in transcendental meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India, to hymns and other music that celebrates meditation and the diversity of world religions. An informal discussion and refreshments with the Swami and the Rev. Bill Sterrett,
Amicable’s minister, will be held after the service. All are welcome, regardless of faith tradition, to attend the service held at Amicable Church at 3736 Main Rd, Tiverton.
