Open space is paid two ways. Private donation and the tax paid by developers. Open space requiresRead Moreno public services and cost the town nothing. Zero gain zero lose. I am a big supporter of less houses more trees.

Open space hurts the tax base. The property value is decreased due to the assignment of theRead Moredevelop ment rights to a non-profit. Once a group like AILT purchases the rights, the property is virtually worthless from a real estate point of view as nothing can be built on the land.

$17'575'739'917'567. Sorry Kids Year after year as I watch the national debt grow it becomes moreRead Moree vident that future generations will suffer. Programs like Social Security and Medicare designed to help people in their elder years are in insolvency as more is collect and less is payed in. Add to that a projected twenty trillion dollar national debt by 2016 and this nation is ruined. Social programs were designed to help people in need and they are needed. The waste and fraud that has plagued the system continues as I read another group was caught stealing millions from the taxpayers. If the fraud isn't bad enough, Congress over the years spent the surpluses. Once that ran out they started to borrow from other nations. Now that we can't borrow anymore they print money with the promise we will pay it back at some point in the future. We all know what happens to people who pay their credit cards with another credit card. Our nation is no different in that we won't ever be able to pay it back and support the programs designed to help our elderly. So the kids today will pay and pay but never receive the services they paid for. Do the math and you'll see what I mean. Our congressional delegation votes for every increase in the debt while telling us the other party hates kids, women, the environment and so on. They refuse to cut wasteful spending and sure up social programs. They talk a good game but their voting record says otherwise. The party on our dime continues in Washington. Future generation will pay a heavy toll for our apathy in this time of trouble. If you would like to learn how you can help change the reckless course we are on there is a group who can help. Their known as the Tea Party . Their the only group looking out for our nations future. The local Tea Party group is holding a rally at the State house Tax Day April 15th. Join the people who stand up for a nation that keeps the American Dream alive for future generations
