Tolls

This rusting piece of steel is the Sakonett River Bridge. just rusting away with last winters sand and salt eating away more and more, For this we have been paying gas tax's for how many years? I think i might remember some work on it years ago, but not much, Where did those millions of gas tax dollars go, My folks paid them, I paid them, my children pay them, and now the bridge is falling down and upstate wants Newport County to pay for everything. By the States own study it was stated that 80% of trucks and 60% of cars on RT 95  are from out of state the same study said 35% of the cars On our bridge are out of state cars included in that count were all the folks from  Ma working on the island, remove them, you get more like 20%, So how does this come even close or fair to #1. The amount of Tourist money that can be raised? #2. Making 80% of Newport county Pay for everything when only 20% of tourist use this bridge. NO TOLLS On RT 24. it's an econmic rip off nothing more

I see now the State say's that the tolls will only make 9 million a year ,down from their first statement of 12 to 15 million a year, If we get another 15,000.00 signatures maybe they will figure they will get nothing a year, but still put booths on the side of the road to give friends upstate jobs. I still would like to know where the booths were suppose to go before they got MITIGATED, or if this was just said to save face, jobs, and make us somehow happy that the state was doing us a favor,Elections are rolling up and remember just who put this job killing money robbing , rip off on us, it could have been stopped long ago, and if put in place Tiverton can kiss and jobs in the industrail park goodbye
