Where Is 'Lover's Lane' in Tiverton and Little Compton?
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, we want to know - where are the most romantic spots in Tiverton and Little Compton?
In the spirit of Valentine's Day, we need your help in telling us where the most romantic spots are located!
Where do people cuddle close to look at the stars? Where do people take long walks? Is it on the beach or somewhere else?
We asked users on our Tiverton-Little Compton Patch Facebook page, and here's what we received so far:
Paula McDonald Pimentel I got engaged at Grinnel's beach Christmas Eve 1974.....and now in our "older age "we go to south shore in the summer......
Lorraine Lopes Monteiro We used to call it Blueberry Hill up behind The Sakonnet Vet. Hospital.
Jennifer L Joseph My husband asked me to marry him at Fogland
Here's my best guess on some other romantic spots in the area, but we want to hear yours!
- Town Landing, Little Compton
- Briggs Beach, Little Compton
- Weetamoo Woods, Tiverton
- Sakonnet Point, Little Compton
- Wilbour Woods, Little Compton
Tell us where you think there's a "Lovers Lane" in the comment section below.

In my day, the ritual was called "parking," Sakonnet Point and Grinnel's beach were popular then. But, possibly the most well-attended venue was the Ponta Del Gada Drive-in Theater. Just across the border in Fall River was the shoreline of Cook's Pond. You had to take a couple of narrow, rut-filled dirt roads to get there. Sometimes, there were so many cars parked there that you had to wait in line to find a parking spot.

I remember the Ponta Del Gada Drive in . In the 70's it was a great hang out. Ceder Island off 24 before the State blocked access to the far end was the place. You had to have a truck to get there. 1960 F100 Ford with rust holes and a cheap radio. The good old days.
