Two Sent to Hospital Following Little Compton Accident

It occurred Thursday afternoon at a West Main Road intersection.

Two women went to area hospitals after their cars collided at the intersection of West Main Road and Town Way in Little Compton Thursday afternoon. According to Little Compton Fire Chief Richard Petrin, the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m.

Petrin said they had to use the Jaws of Life extrication tool to pop the driver's side door for the woman in the white Hyundai, who had minor injuries. She was transported to Newport Hospital.

Petrin noted that a rescue from the Tiverton Fire Department transported the woman from the other vehicle to St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River.

The accident remains under investigation.
