The following arrest was supplied by the Tiverton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A woman known well to Tiverton Police received three counts of felony assault on Monday after an alleged incident involving family members, including one charge of allegedly threatening her son with knives.
Jacqueline Buckley, 47, of Tiverton, was arrested at 8:08 p.m. June 4. She was charged with two counts of domestic felony assault and one count of felony assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police responded to a Bulgarmarsh Road home on Monday night for a report of a domestic incident, according to Lt. Patrick Jones. Police were reportedly trying to get inside the home to get medication for Jacqueline Buckley's estranged husband. The estranged husband was reportedly on scene with his 13-year-old son and 78-year-old mother when officers arrived.
Jones said police entered the residence with the boy to get his father's medication. While there, the grandmother reportedly told officers Buckley threatened her grandson earlier that night when they made their first attempt to retrieve the medication without police assistance. The boy went into the house earlier that night to get the medication, and Buckley allegedly confronted her son "multiple times" with "multiple knives," specifically a paring knife and two long kitchen knives. The boy reportedly told police Buckley threatened him until he left the house.
Officers arrested Buckley and brought her back to the station for processing.
Jones said during a follow-up conversation with the estranged husband, who alleged Buckley confronted and threatened him and his son earlier that night when trying to retrieve the medication. The estranged husband reportedly noted they left the house on Saturday because Buckley had allegedly been drinking and not taking her own medication, and she threatened to stab him.
Buckley has been arrested by Tiverton police several times in the past, most recently on April 10 for simple assault and battery after another alleged domestic incident.
