Citizens Bank, the Pawtucket Red Sox, and Pepsi have announced the winners of the “All-Star Reading Team,” a program in conjunction with the Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services, that encouraged students from across the state to read during the summer.

Tiverton All-Star summer readers Matthew Raymond and Maisie McQueen won free tickets to a PawSox game for their participation in the program. Raymond represented the Union Public Library and McQueen came for Essex.

The contest was open to Rhode Island residents between the ages of 6 and 12 who completed their local public library’s “One World, Many Stories” summer reading program.

To enter, the students selected their favorite book and wrote a paragraph, composed a poem or drew a picture to creatively explain why it was their favorite.

One reader was selected randomly from each library to win four tickets to the Paw Sox home game on Monday, Aug. 22 where one reader was then selected to win a trip for four to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.
