One Person Flown to Hospital From Car Accident on Bridle Way [VIDEO]

The driver's vehicle had to be removed from a nearby swamp with a heavy wrecker.

Tiverton police and fire are currently assessing the scene of an afternoon rollover accident on Bridle Way in Tiverton.

One person was flown to Rhode Island Hospital by Boston MedFlight with serious injuries according to Fire Chief Robert Lloyd. 

Lloyd said the accident occurred around 1:25 p.m. One vehicle, a blue Corvette, went off Bridle Way into a swampy area and rolled over onto its roof, leaving a single occupant trapped inside.

Lloyd said they called for mutual aid from the Fall River Fire Department to use their speciality extrication equipment, as well as Tiverton Auto Body to use their heavy wrecker vehicle to lift the vehicle out of the swamp. The Corvette is heavily damaged and is currently being towed from the area.
