Little Compton Woman Charged With Punching Glass Door

charged a woman with domestic vandalism after she allegedly smashed her boyfriend's glass door and ran into the woods.

Maya Burton, 30, of 261 West Main Road, Little Compton, was arrested at 8:39 a.m., Thursday, May 10 on Meeting House Lane. She was charged with domestic vandalism.

Police responded to a residence for a report of a domestic incident. Upon arrival, they met with the caller, who showed a door with smashed glass he alleged his girlfriend, Burton, punched out. He reportedly told police Burton ran into the woods prior to police arriving. She was eventually found walking in the woods and arrested.

Burton was processed and brought to court to be arraigned.

A resident came into the police station at 7:38 p.m., Saturday, May 12, to report finding an IPhone laying in the the middle of Oak Forest Drive. Officers made contact with the phone's owner, who eventually came to the station to pick it up.
