Little Compton Police: Suspicious Activity at the Sakonnet Point Club

Sakonnet Point Club visitors report a car break-in and vandalism.

 

The Little Compton Police have been busy at the Sakonnet Point Club recently, dealing with a suspected motor vehicle larceny and a keyed car.

Police responded to the club at 9:25 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 8, for a report from a Wesport man of a possible larceny. Upon arrival, the man told police he saw a man "rummaging" through his car, and when confronted, the man ran off. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the male. No items were taken, and the matter remains under investigation.

The police went to the club's parking area at 1:19 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, for a report from a Newport man that his car was keyed. Police saw markings on the car's door, and the matter remains under investigation.

Warrant arrest

Sary Nuon, 25, of 492 Division St., Fall River, MA, was arrested by Little Compton Police at 12:08 a.m. on Thursday, Aug 4. Nuon was stopped for a motor vehicle violation, and after a background check, he was arrested for an outstanding warrant in Second District Court for failure to appear.

Incident

A Colebrook Road man came into the station at 11:20 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, to report that he may be the victim of a contractor obtaining money for work under false pretenses. The matter remains under investigation.
