Little Compton Police: Bench Warrant, Home Break and Dundery Book Sign Kicked Over
The following reports are supplied by the Little Compton Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.
Bench warrant
Penny J. Jerdin, 40, of 38 Main Road, Westport, MA, was arrested at 9:55 a.m., Saturday, April 28. She was taken into custody based on an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear in Second District Court. She was pulled over for not wearing her seatbelt.
Home break reported
A Sakonnet Trail resident reported to police at 6:05 p.m., Tuesday, April 24 that sometime during the day his home was broken into and items were stolen. Police are investigating.
Dundery Brook sign knocked over
A person came into the Little Compton Public Safety Complex at 5:50 p.m., Friday, April 27 to report that someone kicked over the wooden post on the walkway leading to Dundery Brook off of Meeting House Lane.
Stolen jewelry
A Grange Avenue resident came into the station at 12:22 p.m., Friday, April 27 several pieces of jewelry missing from her home sometime within the past two weeks.

The senseless vandalism of the not yet completed Dundary Brook Trail has already started. Litter will undoubtedly soon follow in this once inaccessible area. To anyone who hasn't yet ventured down this trail to see first hand this awesome project, you would be amazed at the work being done on its way through the woods to Bumblebee Farm pond. I personally can't wait to walk the entire finished trail and I hope others that do in the future will respect it and refrain from acts of vandalism and take their trash with them when they leave.
