Little Compton Police: Assault and Alleged Credit Card Fraud

Little Compton police charged a local man with assault last week after a reported domestic dispute with his wife.
Charles Sherman, 58, of 57 Francis Lane, Little Compton, was arrested at 2:41 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 1. He was charged with domestic simple assault. According to police, they responded to the residence for a report of a domestic disturbance between husband and wife. After arriving on scene and investigating, Sherman, the husband, was charged.
Credit card fraud; strange package
A Wild Cherry Drive man called police at 5:44 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, to report that his credit card had been used fraudulently. The man claimed he spoke to his bank and wanted to document the matter with police. In addition, police reported the man received a returned package from FedEx, but the man never sent out that package. The matter remains under investigation.
