Library Encourages Family Reading

Children and parents will work together this summer to improve written and verbal communication skills with the Tiverton Library's "What's Your Dream?" program for students in grades 3, 4, and 5.

This summer join the “Dream Team” at Tiverton Library Services and think about, write about and discuss ways to achieve your dreams.

Children entering Grades 3, 4 and 5, and their parents or caregivers, are invited
to register for a spot on the Dream Team now through July 31. This three-part shared family experience encourages caregivers and children to think, write and discuss their dreams.

The goal of this program is for children and adults to take time out of busy summer schedules to dream big, communicate with each other, and build on writing and verbal communication skills via three 30-minute dream experiences.

Each session will feature a different topic for parents and children to explore:

  • If you could be anyone in the world for just one day of your life who

would you be?

  • What is your dream job or career?
  • Where will your dream vacation take you?T

These are three dreams participants will think, write and talk about in this fun, flexible program this summer. You choose when to explore your dreams, day or night, at your convenience!

“Dream Team” family folders will be available starting June 29. To register visit Essex Public Library, 238 Highland Road, Tiverton, or call Janet Kosinski-Linhares at 401-625-6796 ext. 14.

Note: This is a separate registration than our 2012 “Dream Big-READ!” children’s summer reading program.

* Please note that children who join the “Dream Team” can count this three-part program as 1 chapter book or 6 picture books in our “Dream Big-READ!” children’s summer reading program.
