Forgotten Wallet Leads to Cocaine Possession Charge in Tiverton

The following arrest was provided by the Tiverton Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Tiverton police charged a Fall River man with cocaine possession last week after it was allegedly discovered in his car right before it was to be towed.

Jose M. Perez-Concepcion, 25, of 220 Johnson St., Apt. 28B, Fall River, MA, was arrested at 10:06 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2 on Route 24. He was charged with one felony count of possession of cocaine and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled substance.

Lt. Patrick Jones said an officer on radar post on Route 24 observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust and revoked registration. Once pulled over, the learned the driver, later identified as Perez-Concepcion, did not have registration or insurance after providing his license.

Jones noted that as police took an inventory of Perez-Concepcion's car before the tow truck arrived, they reportedly discovered his wallet. Police allegedly found a white powdery substance protruding from the wallet, Jones said, and it later tested positive for cocaine.

Hey don't get me wrong possession of cocaine isn't right but seriously do you have to put this guys picture on the website for a victimless crime? I hope he gets the help he needs and Im sure hes going to get in alot of trouble, but I think his name and address is enough, these people are innocent until proven guilty and they havent committed a serious crime, keeps the pics in the jails where they belong and post them for real bad criminals. Im not defending what this guy did but this is the only place where Ive seen someones picture get posted for stealing or possesion of a small amount of drugs, its kind of crazy.

i agree further down the page we have a woman that beat up her kids, and another kid that threatened to "gut" some one, a grown man tattooing minors and they put this guys picture up for a drug possession charge. makes alot of sense....

I agree! Let's teach our kids that these kinds of crimes are really "no big deal", and that if they got caught there is no "real" punishment, and no one will even know or realize who they are. And, OF COURSE cocaine possession is inherently a victimless crime, right? I mean, it's theirs and it's not like they were driving with it, right? Oh, no they were. But I am sure they did not use any of it while or before driving. Of course not! That would be ridiculous to think! And they probably did not buy it from some juvenile kid on the street or have to steal something and sell it to get the money for it......right?

Hey Dave, the last time I checked Possession of Cocaine is a Felony. I guess in your book a Felony is not a "Serious Crime". What " makes sense" is that the PATCH is only posting pictures of people who have committed Felonies and I think that makes "Alot of Sense". Go back and check all of the photos that have been posted over the months and you will see that they have all been "Serious Crimes".
