Two-Part Storm Slamming Region Through Wednesday
The National Weather Service (NWS) is reporting that a major storm will begin here early Tuesday morning and last through Wednesday evening. Between eight and 12 inches are expected to fall in the region.
A brief break in the storm is expected early Tuesday night, only to pick up once again later in the evening, according to NWS. Over the course of the two-part storm, the snow will change to sleet, and then to freezing rains. Wind gusts will reach as high as 30 miles per hour.
Temperatures will hover in the mid to high 20s.
According to Tiverton Police, the town's parking ban goes into effect from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Thursday. A vehicle parked in violation of the ban can receive a $50 fine.
