NEW Tiverton-Little Compton History Available

Tiverton & Little Compton, Rhode Island: Historic Tales of the Outer Plantations in the American Chronicles series of titles by The History Press is a new 36,000 word narrative history of the two towns.

The sketches contained in this book's seventeen chapters provide an in-depth look at the region, tracing its evolution from a colonial outpost dominated by Native Americans to its present status of Rhode Island's last peaceful, bucolic resource.

Included in this book is a Glossary of Wampanoag Indian words, some of which are very familiar to Rhode Islands. Read about Little Compton's whipping post; paranormal activity in the Chase-Cory House; learn how Sin and Flesh Brook got its name and explore Weetamoe Woods and the Pocasset cedar swamp fight.

Greetings Sharon & Wendy. I am happy to learn you have stocked my Tiv/LC book, I hope it is selling well.
As a companion to historic Tales of Tiverton & Little Compton, now available from the History Press is Historic Tales of Colonial Rhode Island. In this new narrative is an in depth story of the Battle of Rhode Island which dovetails very nicely with the chapter on Colonel Barton in the Tiv/LC title.
