Detective Sgt. John Faria of the Little Compton Police Department was recognized for finishing the Command Training Series: Mid-Management Course earlier this month at Roger Williams University in Bristol.

The two-week course took place between Nov. 29 and Dec. 10 is offered for supervisory mid-level police personnel. Faria completed coursework on data analysis, planning and project management, legal research, labor issues, emotional intelligence, understanding the budget process and other tasks.

Faria graduated among other police department personnel represented throughout New England.

The course is offered by the The Justice System Training and Research Institute at Roger Williams University and the New England Associations of Chiefs of Police.
